Bahlsen goes for integrated software application of Object Solutions for recipe and specifications management
Zurich (Switzerland), Hanover (Germany). Sept 22nd 2009. – After a detailed selection process Bahlsen, Germany's market leader in sweet baked goods, decides for the integrated software application OS-PDM of Object Solutions Software AG.
For the development department which develops in distributed teams in different Bahlsen locations, major selection criteria were the functionality of Multilingualism and Multi-user with different permission and guidance levels as well as automatic interface to SAP.
Thus the internal company processes in the software can be mapped and all work data can be accessed by any user in a single data source.
The product developers are working with the recipes and raw materials which are relevant and released in that department. Food Law responsibles get current data for creating ingredients lists that are grouped together from all preliminary stages.
Purchasers get access to Raw Material Specifications, sales people on current and future Finished Product Specifications.
Thus all critical information is stored in a database which was previously collected in various subsystems. This seamless integration is a step forward in terms of traceability and information efficiency. Redundant processing steps are therefore excluded.

Sweet recipes at Chocolat Bernrain and Salzburg Schokolade with OS-PDM
Zürich (CH) 04/08/2009. – Chocolat Bernrain AG based in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland and the Austrian Salzburg Schokolade GmbH, producer of the famous Mozartkugeln, manufacture chocolate products that are exported all over the world.
Both companies have decided in favour of the formulation and specification software OS-PDM of Object Solutions Software AG to simplify the development process and automate their specification processes. OS-PDM supports the firms to optimize recipes current and automatically generates ready-made food specifications with lists of ingredients including Guideline Daily Amounts (GDA) in real time. Odenwald-Früchte GmbH develops new products with OS-PDM software
Zürich (SUI), Breuberg (GER) Feb, 18 2008. – Odenwald-Früchte GmbH, manufacturer of fruit preserves, confiture and reduced-calorie fruit products decided to choose the product development application OS-PDM. The flexible solution of the Swiss software company Object Solutions has been adapted to the particular needs of Odenwald-Früchte. OS-PDM was the choice „because of its logical structure and flexibility”, according to Olaf Hoffmann, development manager at Odenwald-Früchte.
With a comprehensive material- and formula-administration and an easy-to-use declaration feature OS-PDM software represents the functional counterpart in the development department compared to the ERP-system in the production.
„Thanks to OS-PDM we are able to develop innovative fruit products faster and more flexible. Documentation according to food regulation requirements, especially for the traceability and specification, is supported by the system”, explains Hoffmann.
The former isolated applications based on Excel had been replaced by the product development-suite and was integrated with the existing SAP-System. Seamless work is enabled with less media disruption and less sources of error, thus Odenwald can offer more „Fruit to enjoy“.
